Intro to the course:

Where an employers risk assessment of First Aid requirements says that there is a need for employees to have the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, then this national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work will be sufficient to ensure the needs of the HSE are met.

Syllabus:

  • Responsibilities and reporting
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Burns
  • CPR – adult
  • Minor injuries
  • Choking
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Basic hygiene
  • Epilepsy
  • Bleeding & bandages Shock

Certificate – valid for 3 years, regulated by Ofqual.
Renewing the qualification – Attend the same 1 day course after 3 years.
